Marissa Smith

Marissa Smith, RN, has spent two decades in the Labor and Delivery unit at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon. She was honored with a DAISY Award after a patient experienced a sudden, life-threatening complication during childbirth. Her nurse manager recounted that Marissa "held the patient's hand, spoke words of comfort, advocated for her, prayed with her" while remaining a steadying presence for the entire medical team during the crisis. Colleagues recognize her as a dedicated mentor whose patient-first instincts carry others through the most frightening moments in healthcare.
